Our fees

At LEDA Lawyers, we are a FIXED FEE practice. This means that you are not charged an hourly rate for the time we are working on your matter.

Most other law firms traditionally charge an hourly rate, or part thereof, for the time spent working on your matter. These rates are commonly upwards of $400 per hour + GST. The billable hours are then added up at certain intervals and invoices are sent to you for the fees incurred up to that date. Whilst this fee model works, it is the reason clients often experience bill shock when their initial estimations and the actual costs incurred don’t align – and it’s one of the reasons costs in family law disputes often “blow out” beyond a client’s expectations.

With fixed fees, we offer certainty to our clients up front and at each stage of their matter.

We charge a fixed amount for the completion of a particular piece of work or the progression of your matter to a particular stage in the process – irrespective of the time it takes us to get there.

This approach prioritises efficiency and focuses on delivering outcomes for our clients. We value the result, not the time it takes to achieve it.
